This is the material Mies van der Rohe selected for his original chair. The gentle swaying action of the spring steel makes the seating surface of this chair appear to hover.
He spared no expense in the manufacturing of his furniture, which is why copies of this chair use stainless steel, which is decidedly inferior to spring steel.
The lustre of chrome
The raw frame goes through a series of processes in which the surface is worked until the weld seams are no longer visible and the surface reaches a high-gloss shine.
Only then is it ready to be finished with two layers of nickel and a finishing coat of chrome, guaranteed to last for decades.
Perfectly shaped
The cushions of our chair follow the flow of the frame. This means that the backrest is slightly curved, and the bottom cushion is slightly tapered at the back. The backrest is almost flush with the top edge of the frame.
